No one likes them, they seem to take over our bodies as well as our minds and they sabotage our fat loss efforts…cravings! Often the most difficult part about dealing with cravings comes in the first few minutes of being aware of them, 5-10 minutes later for some reason they seem to be much more manageable.
How do we bridge that gap? Below I’ve outlined 10 super quick and easy strategies to help you deal with your cravings and stick to your body re-comp plan!
Brush your teeth
This one seems a little bit strange; I have no science to back it up only experience. Just try it, it’s extremely effective and on top of it you reap the dental hygiene benefits!
Side note: Use fluoride free toothpaste, fluoride negatively affects the thyroid (metabolism). I use Tom’s fluoride free spearmint flavor!
The very act of chewing triggers hormonal responses in the body that will allow you to still ‘be’ slightly hungry however not feel it because your brain thinks you’re eating food.
This one is obvious and you’re probably tired of me harping on the H2O but it’s just that good…and it’s cost-free! Add some freshly squeezed lemon or lime for added health benefits!
Vegetables are a great way to get in a large volume of food without ingesting a ton of calories. Dip your veggies in salsa for a great craving crusher!
Diet pop/crystal light
This isn’t the healthiest option but if you’re hungry and you want that sweet taste having a diet pop or some crystal light is super satisfying! You get little to no calories and it eliminates cravings really effectively!
Side note: Take some popsicle trays and pour your diet pop or crystal light into them for a calorie free cold treat as opposed to a beverage!
Freshly brewed organic coffee
I’m a big fan of coffee when taken in the right form. Freshly ground, brewed and organic coffee can be great for your health as well as your cravings! Add a small amount of full fat cream and/or stevia for taste!
Side note: Put your coffee in your magic bullet or blender on some ice for an iced coffee at home or at the office!
Getting adequate sleep will actually help you lose more fat and you’ll have an easier time sticking to your fat loss plan!
Lack of sleep will elevate hunger hormones and you will actually feel hungrier after a poor nights sleep! Obesity rates have a strong correlation to insomnia and sleep issues so get proper rest in order to get the bod you want!
